Scrubs will return with new episodes beginning January 24th. The past 6 years have been busy for Scrubs. The characters on the show have been through a lot and it is sad to think that this year will be the last year for the show.

For those of us who are not familiar with the show now is the time to catch up so that we can watch the final season of a truly wonderful saga. The show focuses on the strange experiences of Dr. John Dorian, or JD (played by Zach Braff) a resident doctor who is continuing his career inside of Sacred Heart Hospital, a hospital that is far from normal. The patients and staff of the hospital are very unpredictable and the show contains both humor and tragedy all at the same time.

Fellow residents Chris Turk (Donald Faison) and Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke) join JD in this comical view of death and illness. Dr Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins) and Dr Perry Cox (John C. McGinley) watch over the young doctors during their residency along with the Janitor (Neil Flynn) who plays as JD’s nemesis who loves to constantly harass and pick at poor JD. With this bright and talented crew the show is nothing short of a glorious comedy and wonderful drama.

TMZ.com reports that trouble has erupted for John C. McGinley, the charismatic actor from Scrubs.

News has it that Lauren Lambert, McGinley’s ex-wife has filed a legal suite against him for withholding child support payments in wake of the ongoing writers’ strike.

McGinley, who divorced his wife in 2001, is supposed to pay $9,000, a month for the care of Max, the couple’s 10-year old son, who unfortunately suffers from Down’s Syndrome.

Citing the reason of the show being out of production, the famous Dr. Perry Cox of Scrubs stopped the payment early this month. On the other hand, Lambert is furious over his decision, calling him unfair for ‘possessing a big house in Malibu’ and reinstates her intention to get her fair share of the claim.

Meanwhile, Lynn Soodik, the actor’s lawyer, reportedly came to his rescue. According to Soodik, the court order allows him to reduce the support amount when the show is not being shot.

McGinley has always been receiving great reviews for his performance in the Emmy-nominated Scrubs, the medical comedy series. Recently, he also stared opposite Ice Cube in Sony/Revolution Studios’ feature, ‘Are We Done Yet?, which was basically a sequel to the hit comedies Are we there yet? and Are we done yet?

Scrubs has become one of the best comedies on television. The steamy love affairs and the almost ER atmosphere has made the comedy even more popular among the television gurus. In its last season the show has had some major successes and while it is funnier than Gray’s Anatomy it still has a few serious flings through the episodes. Many people love the show because it takes sickness and adds a funny side to it. It truly makes you wonder if some of your doctors are as crazy and funny as the ones on the show. The success however of the show is no where near a joke. Scrubs is produced by Touchtone Television and is directed by Spin City director Bill Lawrence.

Entering its seventh year the show has earned 2 Emmy nominations both in 2005 and 2006 for Outstanding Comedy Series making it have a total of 10 Emmy nominations and a People’s Choice Award since its debut year. In 2004 Scrubs was given the prestigious Humanities Prize and in 2005 won the Emmy for Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture Editing.

The show continues to have much success in the television industry and like many other great shows is predicted to continue airing on TV well beyond its finishing date.

Zach Braff & David Denman join for “Saint of Circumstance”

“Scrubs” star Zach Braff and “The Office” star David Denman are joining forces for a new pilot for the FOX network called “Saint of Circumstance.” It’s a drama about a man going through a midlife crisis. According to The Hollywood Reporter Zach is in talks to direct and executive produce. David is going to be the star of the pilot, while Braffs brother Adam wrote the pilot.

This should be interesting. First we have a Braff ending his long time running show scrubs on NBC and Denman being written out of the show on The Office, only for both of them to be sidestepping over to fox. Don’t get me wrong, some of my favorite show are on fox, but the fact that NBC was not able to pick this up when i’m sure they shopped it around to everyone in the city of Hollywood is in my opinion like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Interesting to see how this will play out and to see if this doesn’t hurt these stars’ status over at the peacock. Either way we get to see even more branching out for these great TV stars.

Donald Faison to use “Next day air”

Donald Faison, aka Turk form the very popular show Scrubs (NBC at Thursday 9:30 PM) will star in the new movie “Next day air.” The movie is in Post-Prodution and is slated for an 2008 release.

A Dark Comedy about a package of concealed cocaine bricks being delivered to the wrong house by an UPS driver. Now the drug dealers are trying to find the drugs, the intended recipients are tracking down the drugs, and the accidental recipients now trying to sell the drugs for a quick profit. What I imagine will be a great movie has a lot of star power in it, besides Faison, its stars Mos Def, funny man Mike Epps, Darius McCrary (family matters!) and Debbie Allen among others.

Faison is no stranger to Hollywood. He has been starring in roles since 1989. He is best friends with Co-Star Zach Braff and has four children of his own. The funny man is well liked in Hollywood and his time to shine is coming very soon. I for one see him with much potential and with scrubs ending this year, the world will soon see what potential his actor has and we will be watching with hungry eyes.

Zach Braff helms the reigns once again….

Scrubs star Zach Braff continues his quest to show Hollywood he isn’t just a funny guy whose career is just a flash in the pan. Braff did a wonderful job with his directorial debut “Garden State.” The movie had fantastic reviews but the box office didn’t reflect the quality of the film. Like so many low budget independent films that don’t get even a tenth of the amount of advertising they deserve. With only a budget of $2.5 million and grossing $35 million at the box office you can say that he will be given another shot at his newest movie “Open Hearts.” It’s a remake on a Danish film using the rules of Dogma 95. Meaning that no artificial light is used and it’s only shot with a handheld camera.

This is the project that Braff dropped a lead role in the newest reboot of the fletch franchise, Fletch Won, and the role that Dane Cook brilliantly played in the movie “Mr. Brooks.”

Regardless of this movies outcome, Zach Braff has proven that he has the chops to go a few rounds with the most seasoned of Hollywood’s actors AND directors.
